YWCA Westman Women's Shelter

Offers safe, emergency accommodations for women and families fleeing domestic violence. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year and can accommodate up to 24 women and children. Trained counsellors offer counselling education, protection planning, and assistance with legal, medical, and house issues. The shelter also offers group counselling, follow up support, non-residential services,  children's programs, public education and 24 hour crisis line. 204-727-3644 for anyone experiencing abuse in south western Manitoba.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Peaceful Futures is a free counselling program with qualified marriage and family therapists for couples seeking to deal with their past relationship issues, and are committed to a peaceful future. To access this confidential program call 204-571-3680

YWCA Girl Space offers an extra curricular program to girls to increase their awareness about violence, while exploring themselves, personal achievements, and building positive self esteem. 

YWCA Power of Being a Girl/YWCA Strength in Being a Boy, these are fun one day conferences that are no cost to attend for children ages 11-13 years old. The goal of the conferences is to educate young minds, promote body image, self esteem, employment opportunities and touch on the effects of bullying and the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect.
